Legion: Twins top Loggers Tuesday
WHITEFISH — Hayden Meehan had three hits and drove in three runs and the Glacier Twins used a pair of big innings to put away Libby in Class A Legion baseball Tuesday, 14-4.
Libby (13-24) was up 2-0 on Aydan Williamson’s first-inning, two-run single, but the Twins (28-8) quickly got a run back when Stevyn Andrachick tripled and scored in the first.
In the second, four singles, three walks and two passed balls sparked a five-run outburst for Glacier. Andrachick capped a six-run fourth inning with a two-run single; he scored three runs.
The Twins worked four Libby pitchers for four hits, seven walks and a hit batter. The game ended with one out in the bottom of the fifth under the mercy rule.
Mason Peters and Maddox Muller combined to limit the Loggers to four hits in five innings; two of those were a double and a two-run home run by Libby’s Tripp Zhang.
Peters had a double.
