Dennis O. Martinson, 74, was born in Fargo, North Dakota, to Lucille and Orrin Cyrus “Bob” Martinson. He passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Logan Health Medical Center in Kalispell. He attended schools in Delamere and Lidgerwood, North Dakota.

After graduating from Lidgerwood High, he attended Valley City State University, majoring in music. He enlisted in the Air Force and served in the Vietnam War theater and, after returning to stateside, he was stationed at Kalispell Air Force Station in Lakeside where he met his wife, Ann, whom he married in 1971.

Dennis had a varied career divided between playing with local bands, both in the valley and in North Dakota; managing a bowling alley in Lidgerwood, working for UPS and USPS in Kalispell, retiring from the USPS.

He enjoyed his grandsons, Blake and Trey, and, of course, fishing, and playing pinochle with his family and friends.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Lucy, and his brother, Allen.

He is survived by his wife, Ann, his daughter, Tami Holcomb, and grandsons Blake and Trey Holcomb, his sister Sheila Kath and her husband Keith, sisters-in-law Carrie Taylor and her husband Richard, Shirley Anderson and Lori Goble, along with many nieces and nephews.

Dennis requested to be interred at Black Hills National Cemetery in South Dakota with private graveside services.
