Rick Donahue, 67

Whitefish Legend Richard “Rick” Donahue, 67, passed in Whitefish on July 4, 2022, after a 15-year courageous battle with diabetes.

Born June 16, 1955, he lived his entire life in Whitefish, graduating from Whitefish High School in 1973. He had a lifelong career as a PGA Golf professional player and instructor.

Rick served 25 years for the Whitefish Winter Carnival, 22 as Herald the Hark and in 2009 was King Ullr-L of the Carnival. Rick was a first-class musician, playing first chair trumpet at Whitefish High School and the University of Montana. Rick would attract dozens of people just walking into downtown Whitefish from his Mill Avenue home.
