Gary Andrew Burden, 60
Gary Andrew Burden, 60, passed away peacefully in his home on April 16, 2022.
He was born April 28, 1961, in Lima, Ohio, to Patricia and Joseph Burden. Gary attended Bath High School in Lima. He enjoyed running cross country and track. He survived playing junior high football at Bath, occasionally playing quarterback, as he was the only person on the team at the time who could throw a pass far enough. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the Ohio National Guard, where he honorably served as a communications specialist. Gary graduated with an associate degree in electronics and communications from Hocking Hills Technical College.
In 1988, after the typical decade of dating, he married Kathy Loughrin. The newlyweds loaded up a van and horse trailer with all of their life possessions and moved to Kalispell. Their son, Ben, was born in 1995. Ben continues to be the apple of their eye.
Gary enjoyed fishing and woodworking. He loved the great outdoors. An avid canoeist, he and his brother, Dan, cut more than one canoe from log jams. How no one got hurt mystifies many. Gary was a wonderful cook. He truly enjoyed serving good people good food. He was a great listener and friend. When his heart stopped, ours did, too.
Gary is survived by his wife, Kathy, his son, Ben, along with Gary’s sister Cheryl (Dick) Fullmer of Lima, and brother Dan (Sheri) Burden of Swan Lake, Montana, and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers at the service, the family is suggesting that you give flowers to someone who helps to make your life brighter.
Please join us on Sunday, June 12, at 1 p.m., at Bigfork Christian Church, 110 Shawnee Drive, as we celebrate Gary’s life.
He is loved and missed. His gentle nature continues to comfort his family.
