Law roundup: Woman asks police to help her move
A woman seemed more concerned about getting Kalispell Police Department officers to move her belongings from a hotel to an apartment rather than reporting alleged fraud involving an Amazon account. Dispatch told her officers could not be tied up with helping her move and giving her rides around town.
A frustrated woman allegedly went to the police department seeking advice on what to do about an ongoing problem involving her daughter and the father of her grandchildren for having drugs and trashing and destroying her house.
A nurse practitioner reportedly called and regained access to a third-party system used by her former employer to write prescriptions after having been removed due to her resignation, and proceeded to write prescriptions for her patients. Someone said they reported her to the medical licensing board and were advised to report the alleged data breach to the police.
A property manager saw a man wearing a backpack and carrying a case of beer allegedly try to get into an empty apartment and told officers he appeared to be “wasted.” Officers made contact with the man, who may have been suffering from dementia, and took him home.
A maintenance employee reportedly found a suspicious vehicle with clothes piled in the back window parked in someone’s designated parking space and a man, who was possibly living in the vehicle, getting out. They wanted the vehicle towed or the man moved kicked off the property for good. Officers advised the man, who had several incidents of trespassing at other locations, that he could be arrested if he returned. He agreed to leave.
Someone’s father was reportedly being pushed around by their mother and they called officers concerned things would escalate based on a previous incident. The husband said he was poked in the arm by his wife but was not scared or injured. Parties were separated.
Two men and two women accompanied by three dogs were reportedly panhandling and bothering customers in a parking lot and being argumentative with security, refusing to leave.
An erratic driver reportedly drove all over the road and pulled into a parking lot where a man tried to get an unconscious woman, who may have been overdosing, out of the vehicle.
One person in a group gathered by a creek was purportedly drinking out of a paper bag and feeding deer.
