Someone allegedly called the Columbia Falls Police Department over concerns a cousin was posting threats about burning his house down on Facebook. Officers spoke with the cousin who was reportedly upset with his mother, who owned the residence, because she “ordered the wrong house furnishings.” He said he didn’t have any intentions of harming anyone, “he merely said he had a gas can and torch so that his family would return his phone call.”

Officers responded to a verbal disturbance where a man allegedly found his stolen bike, got into an argument and was refusing to walk away from the situation. During the call to police, dispatch could hear a man screaming about “his rights,” and another man and woman yelling. Officers took the bike “into custody,” until it could be proven who the owner was.

A 12-year-old allegedly called law enforcement to report being blackmailed by someone, possibly a classmate, who was sending fake photos over Snapchat. The youth called back and said the person was now sending the photos to his parents. An officer spoke with the child’s father and said there wasn’t much law enforcement could do and he said he was aware it was a “dead end” and would handle the situation.

A golden retriever was allegedly seen in a portable kennel that was strapped to a boat on a trailer in the rain from morning into the afternoon. The dog was taken to the Flathead County Animal Shelter and officers considered pursuing charges for confining the dog in a cruel manner with no water. The dog was ultimately released to its owner, who later called the police from a different shelter looking for the dog and said he thought it had been stolen.

Officers counseled an intoxicated man walking across the road into traffic.

Someone complained about two women talking loudly and yelling.

A BB was allegedly shot at a window.

A bag reportedly containing a birth certificate was found on Columbia Falls Stage Road.

A property manager allegedly wanted a man with a criminal history, who was known to wear two pairs of underwear to hide drugs and carry a gun, arrested for trespassing when he was seen on a security camera at a location where he was not allowed to be.
