Class addresses employee engagement

Flathead Valley Community College will host a class on “Driving Business Success Through Employee Engagement” from 9 a.m. to noon on March 9 at FVCC. The class will cover company culture and building trust. Participants will learn four key steps that build an inclusive, trusting culture that puts people first.

Panel gives insight into grant process

The Whitefish Community Foundation will hold a panel on “Perspectives from Grantmakers” from 8:30 to 10 a.m. on March 10 at the O'Shaughnessy Center.

Representatives from the Dennis & Phyllis Washington Foundation, Headwaters Foundation, First Interstate Banc Foundation, and Whitefish Community Foundation will share insights on their funding priorities and how to put together a strong grant application. Training looks at government purchasing

The Montana Procurement Technical Assistance Center will host a virtual training from 10 a.m. to noon on March 10 on the topic of “Waiting for the Phone to Ring: Next Steps for Registered Government Contractors.”

This high level training, held via Zoom, will provide insight into how the federal government and state of Montana purchase products and services. Topics include: Federal and State of Montana purchasing thresholds, conducting market research, federal purchasing vehicles (methods), where to find opportunities and how to get automatic notices, marketing your business to government agencies, and tips on finding subcontracting opportunities. There will also be a question and answer session. Attendees can be any business in any industry interested in learning more about how the government buys things. The event is free. Meeting focuses on C-Falls’ growth

The Columbia Falls Chamber of Commerce will focus on “Current Events and Development in the City of Columbia Falls” during its monthly meeting from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on March 8 at Cedar Creek Lodge. City Manager Susan Nicosia, Police Chief Clint Peters, Fire Chief Karl Weeks, Public Works Director Chris Hanley, Finance Director Shawn Bates and City Clerk Barb Staaland will all give presentations.
