Flathead Venture Crew offers Easter egg services

The Easter Bunny is comin’ to town, this year with the help of Boy Scout Venture Crew 2920.
The Crew will be offering the Easter Bunny assistance this coming holiday by providing Easter eggs to families who sign up for its “Egg Your Yard” program. Plastic eggs will be filled with toys or candies. Several sizes of Easter egg bags are available for orders of 25 to up to 150 eggs. On the night before Easter the bags of eggs will be delivered to participating homes.
For an additional fee of $5, Crew members will hide the eggs in the front yard of the home. Wake up Easter morning with a yard of brightly colored Easter eggs ready to surprise the little ones in your life and help them fill their Easter baskets.
According to advisor Michael Collins, Venture Crew 2920 was started two years ago as a way to give older Scouts more things to do outside.
“Venture Crew isn’t a traditional Scouting program in that Scouts aren’t trying to earn merit badges,” Collins said. “Our activities include things like rock climbing, camping, skiing and bicycling.”
There are currently eight VentureCrew members, both male and female, and Collins says they’re always looking for more who are interested in joining.
While the group is hoping to engage 20 to 100 families in the event’s first year, as of last week Collins said they already had orders for 800 eggs.
“We knew through our own experiences that Easter egg hunting is a common and popular Easter event,” Collins said, recalling how when he was growing up families used to get together to plan Easter egg hunts for the neighborhood.
“Now Mom and Dad can get up on Easter morning and say to the kids, ‘the Easter Bunny has left us some eggs! Let’s go have a look!’,” he said.
“This is a great way to celebrate Easter and help the local Venture Crew,” he added.
The cost for the Egg Your Yard Program 2022 is 25 eggs for $30; 50 eggs for $50; 75 eggs for $70; 100 eggs for $80; and 150 eggs for $105.

All orders must be in by Friday, March 25.
This first year, orders will be taken for properties within the Kalispell, Whitefish, and Columbia Falls area. Arrangements can be made for the area near Bigfork.
The Venture Crew program is open to all men and women from the ages of 14 to 21. It is patterned after Boy Scouts and provides numerous indoor and outdoor recreation opportunities. Everyone in the age group with an interest in new experiences is invited to join.
