Law roundup: Woman hits snag with crocheted sweaters
A woman who does crochet repairs went to Kalispell Police Department when she was thrown through a loop after a customer allegedly told her they were going to call the police to report her for holding their sweaters hostage. The woman claimed she’s had the repaired sweaters for about a month because several calls to the customer went unanswered until now. The officer told the woman the customer had not reported the snag in communication and it is a civil matter.
A “crazy guy” in an alleyway was reportedly throwing trash and screaming random words. Officers made contact with the man who agreed to clean up the mess and move along.
A woman was suspicious of a man dressed in a hoodie and torn jeans because he was allegedly walking back and forth and looking into the windows of a house known for drug activity. Officers made contact with the man who said he was just out walking.
A 2011 silver Toyota Sequoia was reported stolen.
Someone reportedly told officers a man, who was with a woman, asked them for a jumpstart and when they returned to their vehicle, $500 was missing from their wallet, which was sitting on the dashboard.
A rental owner heard second-hand that two men allegedly staying there were “tweaking out pretty bad” and someone saw needles and syringes on the counter.
A woman was suspicious of a man who lived in her building after he reportedly approached her son and showed him videos on his phone. She said she approached the man and he walked to the other side of the complex.
A woman was out shopping for birthday gifts with her grandson when she set her purse down and left the store. When they went back to get the purse it was gone.
A vehicle allegedly parked on the street and two people wearing headlamps got out and started heading toward a walkway by the bypass, which made a woman suspicious enough to call the police and tell them she had video footage with the license plate on it “in case anything mischievous happened” in the area. One of the people was also wearing a backpack.
A woman who was reportedly trying to rent a room thought it was rude when an employee told her to leave.
