Law roundup: Youths cause a ruckus in store

A group of more than 20 obnoxious youths were allegedly causing problems in a store parking lot and going into a business where they knocked items off the shelves. Kalispell Police Department officers moved them along.

A large black bear was sighted in an area where someone requested extra patrol. Animal control counted 12 deer, three cats and one raccoon, but no bears.

A car battery was reportedly stolen by a woman’s sister and a man. The property was returned.

A man allegedly told someone that “snitches get stitches” and warned them to watch their back in addition to threatening to beat them up.

Complaints about vehicles driving recklessly in the downtown area continue. This time, someone requested extra patrols in the vicinity of First Avenue East.

A woman believed she and her friend were being followed by multiple people and requested an extra patrol.

An ex’s wife was reportedly harassing a woman and spoofing phone numbers to avoid detection.

A man suspected a thief was taking tree supports after noticing some trees had three and some had two on his daily walks.

Someone was picking up trash under a pedestrian bridge and allegedly saw kids shooting up drugs. The group packed up and left when approached. Later, the individual saw another group they thought was doing the same thing and was concerned for the kids. The area was vacant when officers checked.

A volleyball coach reportedly had an uneasy feeling about their athletes leaving practice after spotting a man in the school parking lot who was not a parent and was acting suspiciously. They told police he saw them, got out of the vehicle, turned on the lights and then got back in the car.

People at a transient camp were allegedly yelling and screaming profanities. They were told to pack up by noon.
