Plains man killed in crash in Missoula County
Alcohol and speed are suspected factors in a crash that killed a 27-year-old Plains man early Monday morning in Frenchtown.
According to the Montana Highway Patrol report, the single-vehicle crash happened a 1:57 a.m. on Beckwith Street.
The man was driving an Oldsmobile Bravada westbound when the vehicle ran off the right side of the road. The vehicle swerved back onto the road, turned into a broadside slide, ran off the right side of the road again and crashed into a concrete barrier.
The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.
The report notes that road conditions were bare and dry, and that alcohol and speed possibly played a role in the crash.
