PSC watchman

I am writing in support of Ann Bukacek for District 5 Public Service Commissioner.

With inflation and gas out of control, and the threat of rising energy costs, it is critical that Montanans have a tenacious advocate aboard the PSC. Dr. Bukacek diligently researches all sides of an issue to arrive at the facts, and isn’t afraid to convey truth even when it doesn’t fit the established narrative. This is essential for those who identify solutions to problems, and who may determine the future of Montana’s access to water and power.

Equally important, Dr. Bukacek isn’t afraid to check those flush with power, which is essential on the PSC to bring balance to those who might place the dictates of the green energy cult over the needs of the average Montanan.

During Covid we witnessed those who were perfectly content shuttering businesses and issuing mandates at the expense of fundamental civil liberties (because, The Science). These kind are likely to be found in the orbit of the PSC, and ready to do the bidding of their global climate change overlords.

Thus, I will be grateful to have Dr. Bukacek as a watchman on the wall, and she has my vote.

Professional advice

During a visit with my primary care physician I told him I had a question concerning a financial decision I was trying to make. He looked at me for a second and then wisely told me as a medical professional he was happy to answer any medical questions, but he was not qualified to give financial advice and I should consult a financial professional. That seemed to pass the common sense test.

In the PSC District 5 race, Dr. Annie Bukacek, a medical doctor, is running against John Repke, a retired financial professional. The PSC website states, “It’s the PSC’s job to balance the interests of ratepayers who are concerned about utility rate increases, with the need to maintain a financially sound utility that is capable of providing reliable service.”

Trying to ensure the financial stability of a utility versus the interests of ratepayers sure seems like a financial question versus a medical one. Maybe it is just me, but I don’t care what political affiliation my accountant or doctor associates themselves with, I just want the most qualified person for the issue I’m trying to solve.

John Repke, with 40 years of financial training and direct experience in the areas the PSC deals with, is the most qualified person for the job. I’m voting for John Repke for PSC District 5 and I encourage you to do the same.
