Bulldogs, Bluehawks win Western B/C races
EUREKA — Andrew Rush of Mission won his race, Ellie Baxter of Thompson Falls won hers, and both led their teams to titles at the Western B/C Divisional cross country meet Wednesday.
Rush completed the 5-kilometer circuit at Rivers Bend Golf Course in 16 minutes, 10.325 seconds. Teammate Robbie Nuila ws second in 16:45.36, and Bulldogs Zoran LaFromboise, Thomas Nuila and Harlon Leishman finished 5-6-7.
Mission had 18 points and Bigfork was next at 66; Eureka followed with 90, narrowly edging Missoula Loyola for third.
Thompson Falls won the girls team title with 38 points; Eureka was next at 64, and Mission was a close third at 65.
Ellie Baxter was first in 21:41.96 and Aubrey Baxter was next at 22:06.95. Eureka’s Taylor Lancaster was third, followed by Faith Palmer of Thompson Falls.
There were new team champions on both sides; Bigfork swept the 2021 titles, before the Vikings won the State B boys title.
Eureka finished in the top three for the boys and girls for a ninth straight year at divisionals.
