Ninepipes Museum in Charlo will be celebrating the end of the summer season with its First Saturdays event, Sept. 3, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Jim Thomason, is an award winning artist whose work depicts both contemporary and historical Western scenes with bold, clean lines, movement and an expansive sense of the Big Sky Country.
Laurie Childs’ describes her photography: “This is in-your-face-life and it is gritty, amazing, poignant and no-frills beautiful.”
Guitarist Richard Tobel will play his own brand of old-time favorites. The special guest musician will express nine decades of life through music from noon to 2 p.m.
Tracey Rider and the Frybread Ladies will be preparing fry bread and Indian tacos from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The museum is open Tuesdays through Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Labor Day weekend. We will be closed Sundays through Tuesdays after Labor Day.

Bigfork Summer Playhouse announces scholarship winners
Brach Thomson, one of the producers of the Bigfork Summer Playhouse announced the following recipients of the Playhouse’s 2022 scholarships recipients before the final performance of “Mamma Mia” on Aug. 20.
• Six $1,000 scholarships — Travis Ulrich (actor); Christian Sandelin (actor); Michael O’Herron (costume designer); Dani Roth (lighting designer; Max Rosenthal (percussionist in band) Abigail Aldridge (actress)
• Three $1,500 scholarships — Olivia Pelton (actress); Tanner Scot (actor); Jessica Hightower (scenic designer)
• One $2,500 scholarship — Jeff Gallup (actor)
• One $5,000 scholarship — Austin Anderson (actor)
Markrophones rock band launches fundraiser tour for water charity
The Markrophones "first one-man rock trio" is kicking off its fundraiser tour for Charity: Water with a show at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2, at the East Shore Smoke House in Polson. Special guests are David Crismore and Borderline Lucid.
One hundred percent of donations go directly to water projects. Since 2005 Charity: Water has partnered with experienced local organizations who build sustainable, community-owned water projects around the world.
The tour will continue through the month of September through the Inland and Pacific Northwest.
