Rod Bartleson, 83

Rod Bartleson, of Cut Bank, 83, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2022.

He is survived by his longtime companion, Jeannie Schroedel; son, Neal Bartleson (April); daughter, Colleen Billman (Dennis); his brother, Warner Bartleson; and grandchildren, Austin Bartleson, Madeline Bartleson, Ashley Billman and Whitney Billman.

Rod was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Mardean Bartleson; his eldest son, Mark Bartleson; and his brother, Vance Bartleson.

Rod along with his wife, Mardean, successfully owned and operated Browning Lumber and Hardware in Browning for 39 years. In true Montana fashion, Rod will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, horses, hunting and fishing. Music and his volunteer work with Immanuel Lutheran Communities were also his passion.

Services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 13, at Prairie Peace Lutheran Church in Cut Bank. Viewing will begin at noon, service at 2 p.m., and graveside to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the Glacier County Historical Society or Prairie Peace Lutheran Church.
