A pair of Kalispell hoops standouts, Noah Dowler and Maddy Moy, picked up more honors Tuesday with their selections to the Montana-Wyoming All-Stars basketball series.

Dowler, a 6-foot-7 post player for Glacier High, will play in the 47th two-game series for the boys June 9-10; Moy, a 5-foot-9 guard out of Flathead, will suit up for the 26th girls series.

Dowler, who is headed to Montana Tech, led Class AA in rebounding this past season at 8.2 boards a game; by the time Glacier finished third at the State AA tournament that average was up to 8.5. He also averaged 7.4 points and 1.2 blocks per game for the Wolfpack.

Moy, a Montana Western signee, fought back from summer ACL surgery to average 7.7 points in 20 games for the Bravettes, who went 19-5 and advanced to the State AA title game, which they lost to Billings West.

The Montana-Wyoming All-Star series dates back to 1976, when Wyoming won the first two boys games that were played in Sheridan, Wyo., and at the Billings Metra. The girls series began in 1997, and Wyoming swept the first year there, too.

Montana has dominated since then: The Treasure State leads the boys series 65-27, including 20 straight under recently retired Providence coach Steve Keller, who will again coach the All-Stars. Montana has also won 11 straight in the girls series — Wes Keller, Steve’s son, is 11-1 as the girls coach — and leads it 37-13 overall.

Montana’s rosters are, as usual, stout. Among those joining Dowler on the boys team are Royce Robinson of 2023 State A champion Lewistown, Dougie Peoples of 2022 State A champ Butte Central and 2023 State AA MVP Connor Dick of Missoula Hellgate.

Moy will play alongside, among others, State AA MVP Layla Baumann from 2023 champion Billings West; scoring machine Brooke Badovinac of Butte Central and one of the top rebounders in the Western AA, Alex Bullock of Helena High.

Hellgate’s 6-foot-6 Alex Covill was not selected by the Midland Roundtable, a series sponsor and athletic benefactor centered in Billings.

This series has a new starting point this June, switching from the Hoffman Golden Dome in Sheridan to Gillette, Wyoming’s Pronghorn Center on June 9. The next night both games will be played at Lockwood High School just outside Billings.

The girls games begin at 5:30 p.m.; the boys games are to start at 7:30.
