Bulldogs Schwaiger, McInytre no-hit Eureka in 3-0 victory
EUREKA — Whitefish pitcher Ty Schwaiger was untouchable for six innings, and Jake McIntyre finished the 7-inning no-hitter as the Bulldogs beat Eureka 3-0 in high school baseball Friday night.
Schwaiger, who is headed to Washington State to play baseball, struck out 13 and walked three Lions in his six innings. McIntyre then struck out the side in the seventh for the save.
Eureka starting pitcher Sam Hall was equal to the task, throwing five hitless innings with two walks and eight strikeouts. The Bulldogs broke through in the sixth with four hits — Schwaiger had an RBI single and scored — and three runs.
It was the first loss for the Lions (5-1); Whitefish improved to 3-1.
