Glacier sweeps track dual from Butte

The Glacier Wolfpack swept their track and field dual with Butte in emphatic fashion Friday, and put up some nice marks in the process, especially on the boys side.

Jeff Lillard swept the 200 and 400 for Glacier, which won the boys dual 118-27, and his time of 51.44 seconds in the 400 moves him unofficially into third in the Class AA ranks and fourth in the state overall.

Teammate Ethan Anderson ran second in 53.20, which would place him in the top six in AA; Anderson also won the 110 hurdles in 15.64 while teammate Evan Barnes ran a personal-best 15.73. Anderson and Barnes sit fourth and sixth in AA.

Barnes won the 100 meters, and in fact Glacier won every timed boys event Friday.

The Pack also lowered their state-best 400 relay time .08 down to 43.41.

Aiden Krause unleashed his best discus throw of the season, 153 feet and one half-inch, which sits second in AA and fifth in the state.

Xavier Stout’s winning long jump of 20-10 places him in the top six in AA.

The Wolfpack girls outscored Butte 128-17 with Noah Fincher sweeping the 100 and 200, Karys Camp winning both the long jump and triple jump and Julia Hagemeier sweeping the hurdles races.

The best marks came in the “field” part of the duaL: Glacier’s Kai Johnson threw a career- and state-best 39-6 to win the shot put; teammate Jaydn Peven cleared 5-2 to win the high jump and join three other AA athletes at that height, which sits second in AA.
