National Geographic Live — Filmmaker, photographer and marine conservationist speaks at FVCC
Emmy-nominated director, National Geographic photographer and marine conservationist Andy Mann will share engaging stories in “From Summit to Sea,” at the Wachholz College Center April 27.
Mann’s journey from rock climber to ocean storyteller involves some remarkable detours and misadventures, showing that field science can be as thrilling as the climbing adventures of his past.
Mann has followed scientists to some of the most extreme locations — dived alongside crocodiles, sperm whales, and sharks and survived near misses with icebergs — in pursuit of capturing the ocean’s incredible ecosystems, advocating for their protection.
He now spends more than 100 days a year at sea, documenting the latest marine science and telling the story of our rapidly changing planet — covering all seven continents for National Geographic.
The event begins at 7:30 p.m. Single ticket prices range for each speaker from $59 up to $70.
The Wachholz College Center is located on the campus of Flathead Valley Community College.
