Bryce Buckmaster was strong in relief and Hunter Glidden’s sacrifice fly in the seventh lifted the Kalispell A Lakers ovre Havre 4-3 in the first game of a Class A Legion doubleheader Sunday at Archie Roe.

The Northstars won the second game 11-2 to salvage a split and get out of Kalispell with a victory; they were swept by the AA Lakers on Saturday.

Trever Cockerill drove in two runs for the A Lakers in the opener; they gave up three first-inning runs to Havre and then held the Northstars scoreless behind pitchers Liam Benson and Buckmaster.

The latter threw three innings, allowing one hit and three walks with two strikeouts.

In the seventh Breckan Walcheck drew a leadoff walk for the Lakers, was bunted over, took third on a Cale Brink single and scored the game-winner on Glidden’s fly to right.

In the second game Havre pitcher Lane Kinsella scattered four hits, three walks and two hit batters, striking out three.

Just five of Havre’s 11 runs were earned against the Lakers’ pitching tandem of Cockerill and Brink, but a five-run fourth inning put the Northstars in command.

Drake Berretth led the Havre offense with two hits, including a double, and two RBIs; Kinsella had two hits and scored twice.
