Whitefish wine and food fest supports children’s activities

| April 27, 2023 12:00 AM

The Project Whitefish Wine and Food Fest is set for Wednesday, May 3.

The annual wine tasting, food festival and auction event raises funds to support children in the community through sports and the performing arts. The theme for this year’s event is Hollywood Nights and will be held at Grouse Mountain Lodge 6- 9 p.m.

All proceeds from this benefit go to Project Whitefish Kids, the organization that maintains the Smith Fields Sports Complex for several sports teams, and the Whitefish Theatre Company.

The food includes a sampling of cuisines from local restaurants including Indah Sushi, Logan’s Grill at Grouse, Ed McGrew’s Barbeque, Latitude 48, Last Chair Kitchen and Bar, Fleur Bake Shop, and Whitefish Lake Restaurant. Summit Beverage provides the wine tasting. Craft beer will also be provided by Jeremiah Johnson at Black Star.

A silent and live auction highlights the evening with lots of items available this year. Auction items include a Golden Knights Las Vegas package, a private surf and turf dinner for six, a weekend getaway in Essex, a treehouse weekend on Big Mountain, a private movie party, sporting equipment, golf packages, wine, art and historic Glacier photos, baskets from local businesses, local beef from Wagyu beef and KM Beef, restaurant gift certificates, theater tickets, and more. Local businesses and individuals have donated all of the items.

John Dunnigan and David Walburn will be playing music during the evening and acting as the event’s emcees.

Seating is limited to 150. Tickets are $100 per person and include all food and beverages. An entire table for 10 for $1,000 can be purchased or sponsor a table for $500 that comes with two tickets. Sponsored tables are conveniently located near the auctioneer with the name of the sponsor listed. Donations are also accepted for the event.

Tickets can be purchased at the O’Shaughnessy Center Box Office and online at www.whitefishtheatreco.org or call 406-862-5371.
