Tami Rasmussen-Heikes, 61

| April 28, 2023 12:00 AM

With great sadness, we announce that Tami Jo Rasmussen-Hiekes passed away April 19 in Kalispell.

Tami was born Sept. 4, 1961 and spent most of her life in Northwest Montana and Idaho. She was passionate about music; she was a fixture in band at Whitefish High School, from which she graduated in 1979. Her voice was amazing and she shared it easily and often, singing for couples at dozens of weddings over the years. Scouting was also a big part of her life. As a youth, Tami received the Gold Award – the highest honor awarded by the Girl Scouts – and was a longtime leader to boys including her own in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts.

Tami added life, fun and positive energy wherever she went. She was a sweet, kind soul, playful yet rarely afraid to show a little good-natured sass. She was truly in her element in the evening around a bonfire, where all of this would combine into deep and insightful conversations. Tami was a beautiful woman, truly one-of-a-kind. Her presence here is and will always be deeply missed.

A wake in honor of Tami’s life will be held by Tami’s many friends and coworkers on Sunday, April 30 from 2 – 4 p.m. at the Gold Dust Casino, 1011 U.S. Hwy 2 W #100, Kalispell.
