Jackson Raper and Kingston Liniak drove in two runs each, and the Glacier Range Riders brushed aside an early 3-0 deficit to beat the Boise Hawks 7-3 Tuesday in Pioneer League baseball.

Brandon Fitzgerald’s RBI double and Raper’s two-run single brought the Range Riders (7-12 this half) back into a 3-3 tie in the second inning; when Gabe Howell doubled and scored on a wild pitch in the third, Glacier had the lead for good.

Liniak added a two-run double in the fourth inning to make it 6-3 and Matt Clayton hit a solo homer, his 10th, in the fifth to complete the scoring at Glacier Bank Park.

Clayton scored twice; he, Colin Gordon, Raper and Liniak all had two hits.

Credit goes again to the Range Riders’ bullpen, which threw six scoreless innings in relief at Boise (8-12). Jonathan Pintaro handled four innings, allowing one hit and one walk and striking out two. He got the decision and improved to 4-4.

Roy Robles and Justin Coleman handled the eighth and ninth innings.

Starter Michael YaSenka allowed six hits and three walks, fanning five in his three innings of work.

The teams were to complete their three-game series Wednesday night and then — after a travel day — commence another one Friday in Boise.

That’s the start of a nine-game road trip for the Range Riders, including six games at Idaho Falls. Their next home game will be Aug. 22 against the Missoula PaddleHeads.
