Columbia Falls pulls away at Frenchtown
FRENCHTOWN — Reggie Sapa scored two touchdowns and Columbia Falls used four third-quarter scores to put away Frenchtown 42-14 in Western A football Friday.
Wildcats quarterback Cody Schweikert completed 15 of 22 passes for 222 yards, including a 76-yard scoring strike to Jace Hill that started the third-quarter surge. Hill had three catches for 93 yards; Lane Hoerner had five catches for 40.
At halftime the Cats led 14-12, thanks to Alihn Anderson’s 48-yard fumble return and Sapa’s 85-yard kickoff return.
In the second half Columbia Falls’ offense got going. After Chance Miller picked off a Frenchtown pass, Schweikert scored on a 1-yard run to make it 28-12.
Sapa tore off a 19-yard scoring run later in the third quarter. He finished with 10 carries for 63 yards. Blaze Cronk’s 4-yard touchdown run capped the scoring.
Broncs QB Brody Hardy threw for one TD but was intercepted three times, and rushed for
151 yards — 92 on one second-quarter scoring run.
