Rustlers shut out Flathead, 33-0

GREAT FALLS — The Great Falls Russell defense picked off four passes, Caleb Taylor three two touchdown passes and the Rustlers beat Flathead 33-0 in the football opener for both teams.

A punt return and Taylor’s first TD pass, covering 38 yards, staked the Rustlers to a 14-0 lead. Flathead was heading for a score when quarterback Kaleb Sims had the ball popped loose near the goal line.

The Rustlers kept momentum from there, getting a safety on a bad Flathead snap, then another TD pass from Taylor.

Nolan Campbell had an interception for Flathead’s defense.
