Range Riders romp over PaddleHeads Friday
Mason Dinesen’s two-run double in the second inning started things for Glacier, and his bunt single in the eighth pretty much capped the Range Riders’ 10-3 Pioneer League win over Missoula Friday.
With Dinesen setting the pace the Range Riders (14-20) scored the first six runs at Glacier Bank Park, including a Christian Kirtley RBI double that made it 4-0, and Crews Taylor’s ensuing triple that brought in Kirtley for a 5-0 lead.
Jackson Raper then brought in Taylor with a sacrifice fly.
After the PaddleHeads got on the board, Ben Huber drilled a two-run double to score two runs for an 8-1 lead in the fifth inning.
That was more than enough support for starting pitcher Jack White (2-5), who pitched into the sixth inning, allowing five hits, a walk and three earned runs. He struck out nine.
Glacier relievers Ben Ferrer, Roy Robles and Justin Coleman teamed up to record the final 10 outs with no damage.
In the eighth, Dinesen’s bunt with Jackson Raper on first ended up scoring a run thanks to a throwing error by Missoula’s third baseman. Dinesen got to third on the play and came in on Austin Bates’ sac fly.
The Range Riders’ win squared this six-game series at 2-2 pending the outcome of Saturday night’s game. The teams play again Sunday at 1:05 p.m. at Glacier Bank Park.
