IDAHO FALLS — The beginning was certainly solid for the Glacier Range Riders Tuesday; the ending not so much.

The Idaho Falls scored the last 11 runs of an 11-5 Pioneer League win over Glacier, in the first game of a doubleheader scheduled to make up an earlier postponed game.

The Range Riders, 15-22 this half, staked starting pitcher Noah Barros to a 5-0 first-inning lead: Dean Miller doubled in the game’s first run; Crews Taylor doubled in two to cap the uprising.

In the third inning Idaho Falls (14-22) put up six runs. Seven straight Chukars reached safety after one was out, before Sam Troyer’s sacrifice fly put Idaho Falls up 6-5.

Eduardo Acosta added a two-run triple to spark a four-run sixth inning and the Chukars were on their way. Acosta and Troy each drove in three runs.

Gabe Howell had three hits for Glacier, and Miller and Benjamin Fitzgerald had two each.

The teams then began a second, seven-inning game. At press time Glacier led 6-2 in the fourth inning.
