Law roundup: Person gets a flying start with stolen airline miles

A Philadelphian looking to get out of dodge fraudulently transferred 9,500 American Airlines miles from someone’s account to a new one. Although the Whitefish Police Department advised the account holder they would not investigate the alleged fraud due to the geographic issues, they did provide a case report number as requested by the airline.

An ambulance responded to a report of a possible fentanyl overdose where a woman was unconscious but breathing.

An extra patrol was requested along Baker Avenue because drivers were reportedly not following the 25 mph speed limit and children were walking to school. 

Someone reported a disturbance in a parking lot but didn’t have any specific information other than from a neighbor at the location who said people were causing “chaos,” which they thought meant people were spinning doughnuts.

A woman grew fearful that her ex-husband was stalking her when his phone connected to the Bluetooth system in her car.

A blue and black snowmobile and the trailer it was on were reported stolen. The snowmobile had a black cover on it that had an image of a yellow-outlined snowmobile.

A man reported to the Kalispell Police Department that a Remington 7 mm Magnum and a Smith and Wesson .40 caliber pistol was stolen from his truck.

Someone was worried that a cargo roof rack allegedly stored in the back of their stolen vehicle would be pawned and wanted to know if a system was set up with local pawn shops to call in if they obtained stolen goods.

Someone reported losing medications near a grocery store.

A flatbed trailer pulled by a vehicle reportedly jackknifed down an 8-foot embankment in Whitefish. No injuries were reported to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office.

A Kalispell resident complained about seeing tire tracks up his driveway and across his yard and having problems with “kids” racing in the area.

A black horse was hanging out on the side of a Kalispell road. Deputies drove through the area but didn’t see the black beauty.

Three locks were found cut off at a Columbia Falls storage unit.

Someone in Columbia Falls reported a damaged mailbox and power pole and later noticed his mailbox also had a bullet hole.
