Boys Hoops: Put-back lifts Hamilton over C-Falls

HAMILTON — Jace Hill’s three-point play with 40 seconds had Columbia Falls in the lead, but the Hamilton Broncs hit the offensive glass to pull out a 65-64 boys basketball win Tuesday.

Jackson Jessop’s put-back, the Broncs’ second offensive rebound down the stretch, was the difference and offset a 30-point, seven-rebound night by Hill.

Hill was 13 of 14 from the line, and the Wildcats were 16 of 19 as a team. Both teams had just 10 turnovers.

Cody Schweikert added nine points for Columbia Falls and Alihn Anderson had eight.

Canaan Magness scored 25 to lead the Broncs, and teammate Tyler Jette added 18.

BONNERS FERRY, Idaho — Bonners Ferry junior Asher Williams scored a game-high 32 points as the Badgers used a strong first half to defeat Stillwater Christian Saturday.

Isaac Shawback led the way with 10 points for the Cougars, who trailed 36-16 after the first quarter. Micah Strobel added 9.

KALISPELL — Stillwater Christian’s Kaden Drish scored 16 points as the Cougars used a dominant first quarter to defeat Helena Christian Friday.

Isaac Shawback also got into double-digits for the Cougars as they led 32-3 after one quarter. 

The Cougars combined for 26 steals in the game with Drish and Micah Strobel each with seven.
