Based on Louisa May Alcott’s enduring novel, “Little Women” tells the tale of love, laughter and loss that spans several years and locations across the world. This stage adaptation, written by Thomas Hischak, will please fans of the novel and the newer movie adaptations of “Little Women,” as well as those audience members who have no familiarity with the story.

The play follows the lives of four young ladies of unique abilities, qualities and temperaments who are being guided and guarded through life by their mother, whom they affectionately call Marmee.  Staying loyal to the original story, the show highlights some of the most memorable moments of the novel while depicting the March girls coming of age and finding romance while growing into women and finding independence.

“‘Little Women’ is full of laughs, love and tears. It's a wonderfully told story written by Louisa May Alcott who based this story on her own life,” said GHS senior and director, Annabeth O’Shea. “We picked ‘Little Women’ because of the story behind it. We loved the idea of a timeless classic performed as a class show and the cast is so excited to perform ‘Little Women’ for the first time at Glacier.”

This production of “Little Women” is produced by the Advanced Acting Ensemble class under the direction of Greg Adkins.  As part of a complete GHS theatre curriculum, the Advanced Acting Ensemble class gives students the opportunity to further develop their character portrayal skills and discipline required of an actor. Along with a student-produced class production, students perform a variety of monologue and ensemble performances, along with experiences to assist the student in analyzing a script and understanding the role of the actor in the production process.

“Being a student director has been an absolute joy. I love everything about this show and being able to end my day seeing some of my favorite people work so hard,” said O’Shea. “Being a student director has been a role I wanted since my freshman year and I am so incredibly lucky to have some amazing teachers and students help me along the way. My cast is hard-working and truly one of a kind. For some actors in my cast, I believe this is their biggest role yet. So, getting to watch them become these characters has been truly amazing.”

The cast of “Little Women” includes Ethan Lopez, Isabelle McKoy, Brody Cummings, Andrea Chandler, Gabrielle Cantrell Musson, Gabrielle Leduc, K Perigan, Noel Cantrell, Charlie Miller, Kailie Owens, Toben Mallo, Zach Nases, Tregan Blades, Charlie Miller, Abigail Haley, Ethan Lopez, and Brett Pilon.

The technical crew includes Kailie Owens, Alden Lamson, Drew Crane, Megan Mikelson, Ayden Mintz, Haley Hill, Parker Scherer, Gibson Foshay, Quinn Dunham, Hayden Holloway and Kaylin Stein.
