The Flathead Bravettes used a 21-point performance from senior Kennedy Moore to defeat CMR 60-33 Saturday afternoon in girls basketball.

Fellow senior Bravette Chloe Converse knocked down four 3-pointers and finished with 12 points on the day, as the Flathead team knocked down eight triples in total.

“I thought they played well, we did a good job of rebounding the ball, and making CMR take tough shots,” Bravettes’ coach Kaylee Fox said..

Flathead took control of the game with a 9-0 run. The 3-point barrage started soon after with Moore knocking down two from long range at the end of the quarter to put the Bravettes ahead 19-6.

In the second quarter Converse started getting threes to fall for Flathead and, after knocking down two in a row, forced CMR to take a time out with the score 25-13.

The Rustlers switched to 2-3 zone, but the Bravettes continued to knock down shots as Moore would hit a two with five seconds left in the half to send Flathead into the locker room with a 33-16 lead.

Out of the break Flathead continued to pour it on as a Mattie Thompson basket forced another Rustler timeout with a 43-22 score.

Flathead would outscore CMR in all four quarters as the Bravettes cruised to the victory to move to 2-0 on the season.

“I thought they were unselfish in their passing and willingness to pass up a decent shot to get a better look,” said Fox.

The Bravettes will look to continue their strong start to the season on Friday when they travel to Bozeman to take on Gallatin.
