Law roundup: Children take backseat to mothers' feud
Two children were the captive audiences of mothers making poor choices. One parent reportedly followed a vehicle that she allegedly thought sideswiped her and the driver “didn’t say sorry or nuthin’.” The vehicle pulled over and another mother got out screaming about having to cut the other parent off because her child was about to throw up. The other parent told the Kalispell Police Department she didn’t care because she had her kid in the car who “shouldn’t have to witness such behavior.” She didn’t notice any damage to her vehicle.
A smaller Chevrolet SUV that was brown or champagne in color reportedly disregarded a school bus's extended stop arm while it was northbound on Airport Road. The person calling in the incident told the police that children had almost been hit several times because drivers turning northbound from a park weren’t stopping to wait for children to disembark.
A woman in her house allegedly told her daughter to get her gun after the child spotted a stranger in her vehicle. Without wasting time, the woman confronted the man who had reportedly stolen $70 from her wallet, which she grabbed out of his hoodie pocket while yelling at him. He pushed her away and headed down an alley, leaving behind a cup in the car with a name on it. She identified the man to the police but didn’t want to press charges at the time because she recovered the money, her vehicle was undamaged and nothing else was missing.
Later on, officers received another call from someone who reportedly confronted a skinny man in an alley from their backyard after seeing him trying the door handles of their vehicle and their neighbor’s vehicles on a security camera. The man was wearing a gray hoodie and backpack, and looked to be between 20 and 30 years old.
People were allegedly chucking beer cans out of a red Tahoe with no license plates. Someone claimed to see one of the passengers, a man with a black beard, with an open bottle of Corona.
A mustachioed man with a ponytail and a blue suitcase with blue boots on it allegedly tried to strangle a woman and hit her head into a wall. He may have already had a warrant out for partner or family member assault and was taken to jail.
A woman said her husband’s prescription pain medication was reportedly delivered to the wrong mailbox and he needed a case report number from police to order more through Veterans Affairs.
