Doris Garber, 84
Doris Jean Garber, 84, Nov. 19, 2023 - Jan. 17, 1939.
She was born and raised in Modesto, California. She fell in love with the boy down the road, and at 16 she married Ed Garber.
Her first child, Kurt, was born at 18; then followed by daughter, Lucinda; and then son, Stan.
Doris and Ed eventually uprooted from Modesto and moved to Idaho, then Arizona and eventually Alberta, Canada, where Ed was offered the position to manage Trus Joist (roofing and trusses) Manufacturing Plant.
Many happy years as the kids were able to grow up on a ranch. She was gifted with horses and the ability to match bloodlines as they successfully bred and showed Morgan horses, and established quite a reputation for some of the finest bloodlines within the breed.
Then their passions changed. Together, with Ed, and the rest of the family they dedicated their lives to serving the Lord. This led them to become part of the Sub Artic Mission Field Based in Hay River, Northwest Territories. Eventually this led to taking on the missionary work at a remote native Indian village in Fort Providence. Many wonderful adventures there working with the Slavey Indians.
Eventually their lives brought them to Kalispell where daughter Lucinda, and husband Mike, live.
With all the amazing things that Doris and Ed accomplished with their 68 years of marriage, one of the remarkable things that can be said of their lives is that all three kids grew up well adjusted, serving the Lord and they all love each other, especially their Mom.
