Brawlers’ dual streak moves to 60; Bravettes win

The Flathead Brave Brawlers picked up eight pins and their 60th straight wrestling dual victory Tuesday, blanking Missoula Big Sky 70-0 at the Flathead gym.

The Bravettes scored a dual win as well, getting pins from Adi Siegel and Aspen Smart along with four forfeit wins in a 39-24 decision.

“Overall, it was great to wrestle in our house,” Flathead coach Jeff Thompson said. “It was a good warmup for Best of the West in Pasco (Wash.) this weekend. We are getting healthy and feeling better as a team.

“Dayton Naldrett at 113 wrestled a tough match — it was a full six-minute battle. Freshman Kohen Rilley stepped in for an injured Gunnar Thompson at 182 and took care of business. Will Barnes at 126 was down (4-1) early but found the pin. Diesel Thompson stepped right back in the lineup and got a fall at 132.”
