Robin Selvig, the winningest coach in any sport in Montana history. will receive the ultimate recognition in having the Dahlberg Arena floor at the University of Montana named in his honor.

Robin Selvig Court will officially be unveiled on Friday at 6:30 p.m., during a free public ceremony. The first game on the court will happen Saturday, when the Lady Griz host Big Sky Conference rival Weber State at 2 p.m.

Selvig, the legendary head coach who won 865 games across 38 seasons coaching the Lady Griz, will speak at both events. Dozens of his former players plan to be on hand to celebrate the event.

Doors to Friday's event will open at 6 p.m. In addition to tribute videos and speeches, the event will conclude with Selvig and his family unveiling for the first time the 'Robin Selvig Court' lettering on the hardwood. Fans will then be invited down onto the floor for their first chance to get an up-close look at the court, as well as mingle with the guests in attendance.

Selvig will again be recognized during Saturday's Lady Griz game, making a halftime address to the crowd, while the returning Lady Griz players will be honored on the court during the second quarter. The first 4,000 fans in attendance on Saturday will go home with a commemorative Robin Selvig poster as a memento from the game.

Saturday will also be Montana's annual game celebrating National Girls & Women In Sports Day, which is fitting considering the advocate Selvig was for women's athletics during his four-decade run as head coach.

Prior to Saturday's game, all children – ages 4-13 – are invited to a free youth clinic, featuring student-athletes from most of Montana's female sports programs. Participants will also receive a free ticket to Saturday's game.
