Eureka, Bigfork to meet for 7-B boys title

EUREKA — Tristan Butts scored 18 of his 20 points after halftime Friday, helping Eureka hold off Mission 58-56 in a District 7-B boys basketball semifinal.

Butts hit two 3-pointers in the third quarter, then converted two old-fashioned three-point plays in the fourth as Eureka (10-10) overtook, then held off the Bulldogs.

Zoran LaFrombois made five 3-pointers for Mission (10-9) and scored a game-high 22 points. Four of his threes came after halftime.

EUREKA — Isak Epperly scored 15 points, eight coming in the pivotal third quarter, and Bigfork downed Thompson Falls in Friday’s other 7-B boys semifinal.

Epperly hit two 3-pointers in the third as the Vikings (16-3) padded a 23-15 halftime lead out to 41-27. Nick Walker added 12 points for Bigfork, which will take on Eureka for the tournament title at 5:15 p.m. Saturday.

Bryson LeCoure’s nine points led the Bluehawks (9-9), who fell into loser-out play along with the Mission Bulldogs.
