Law roundup: Ex-boyfriend reportedly steals child’s toys
A woman told the Kalispell Police Department she was at her wit’s end with an ex’s alleged harassment. In the days following Valentine’s Day, when the couple had been separated during an incident, he reportedly took her keys, $500 worth of her son’s toys and began harassing her family members through text and social media messages.
A vehicle pulling a U-Haul trailer reportedly went through a bank’s ATM lane and got stuck, wrecking the side of the vault and damaging the concrete. Someone with video footage of the incident said it appeared they kept rocking back and forth until they got unstuck.
Although a traveling man made it to Washington, he called the Kalispell Police complaining that people giving him a ride ditched him and ran away with his stuff, which he wanted back. He said he unsuccessfully tried to contact them about returning his stuff. He said he didn’t want to show up at their door and cause a problem.
Dispatchers answered a call with an open line where a lady was heard saying, “I didn’t call this,” and hung up. On the callback, she confirmed she didn’t need help.
Someone was reportedly defrauded by an online auction site when they weren’t refunded for the mini disc recorder they purchased from a seller with a Kalispell address. The site’s records showed a $1 LED light was returned rather than the recorder they paid for and the site seemed to be indifferent to their plight. They were advised this was a civil issue.
