Girls hoops: Vals, Lady Indians stay perfect

THOMPSON FALLS — Braeden Gunlock scored 24 points and Bigfork emphatically handed District 7-B rival Thompson Falls its first girls basketball loss Thursday, 64-16.

Gunlock scored 18 points in the first half as her team bolted to a 45-12 lead. Scout Nadeau added nine points for the Valkyries (9-0 overall, 5-0 in 7-B games). Paeten Gunlock added two 3-pointers in the second quarter.

Ellie Baxter’s five points led the Bluehawks (6-1, 4-1).

BROWNING — Sugar Spoonhunter and Amari Calf Robe each scored six points in Browning’s opening 19-0 run as the Lady Indians downed Cut Bank for a non-conference win.

Spoonhunter hit two 3-pointers in the opening burst, and finished with 10 points for Northwest A Browning (7-0). Mecca Bullchild scored 14, and Shaylee Heavy Runner chipped in 10 off the bench. Calf Robe had eight points.

Kendra Spotted Bear led the Class B Wolves with 14 points.
