Boys Hoops: Polson holds off Ronan
POLSON — Trent Wilson scored 25 points, 20 in the first half, and Polson held off comeback-minded Ronan 61-55 in a Northwest A boys game Saturday.
Behind Wilson and two 3-pointers from Tyler Wenderoth the Pirates (4-5 overall, 3-1 in league) built a 34-17 halftime lead. Ronan (3-5, 1-4) rallied, closing to 58-53 on a 3-pointer from Lawrence Lozeau and a basket from Marlo Tonasket, both off Polson turnovers. The Chiefs had a chance to get closer, but a basket was disallowed by a goal-tending whistle.
Espn Fisher, who hit a 3-pointer earlier in the fourth quarter, iced the game with three free throws in the final 26 seconds. Fisher finished with 16 points.
