Law roundup: Whose nose knows the smell of meth

| January 22, 2023 12:00 AM

A woman, who complained about a strong “drug” smell a couple of weeks ago, called the Kalispell Police Department again asking an officer to stop by because the smell had become so strong, she couldn’t go out her backdoor. The woman was disappointed when an officer did not smell any odors indicating an active meth lab.

A man allegedly went to the police department with a “quite interesting” video of a man acting suspiciously on his porch around 2 a.m. He said he just wanted officers aware of the incident and didn’t want to do anything about it.

A man reportedly found a bunch of camping stuff in his doorway and wanted an officer to swing by to make sure no one was there before he started throwing it away. People began removing their belongings.

Someone allegedly heard a loud sound in their backyard and found footprints in the snow leading to fencing that had been knocked down and broken, causing about $200 in damage.

A woman reportedly stole black Nike shoes and a pink Nike backpack.

A sedan reportedly keeps parking in a lot without a permit.
