United Way’s Winter Warm-Up set for Jan. 27
United Way of Northwest Montana is hosting its annual Winter Warm-Up event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 27 at the Gateway Community Center, 1203 U.S. 2, Kalispell.
Winter Warm-Up is an opportunity for neighbors and community members to connect with a spectrum of service providers from across the Flathead Valley in the Gateway Community Center. The event’s goal is to make it easier for those seeking services to meet multiple providers in one spot but also to make sure that those in critical need of resources like a warm coat and help with housing security can walk away with that need addressed.
Resources available at the event include healthcare services from the Flathead County Health Department, Greater Valley Health Center and direct service providers. Job Service, Veterans Affairs, and Community Action Partnership will be available to connect individuals with job leads, services and housing support options. All of the local shelter and housing assistance providers will be at the event for those seeking housing resources. Volunteers will provide free haircuts and a warm meal is available for neighbors and guests.
The Winter Warm-Up is a chance to make sure that those in need walk away with a warm meal, winter coats and a connection to solidarity services in the Flathead. The event has received some clothing, hygiene items and bedding donations but asks the public to continue donating. Please see the United Way of Northwest Montana wish list and contact the office with donations or questions.
Enter through the Gateway center’s north doors (entrance C).
