Lempi Hanson, 101

Lempi (Simonson) Hanson, 101, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2023, with family by her side.

Lempi was born in Hancock, Michigan on Dec. 25, 1921, to August and Alexandra Simonson. She married Harold Hanson in 1945 and they raised their family in Hancock. She was widowed in 1984 and she moved to Kalispell in 1992.

Lempi was a member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church. Her faith was foremost in her life, followed by her love for her family and friends. She was content with a simple life and was cherished by many.

Lempi was preceded in death by her husband Harold Hanson; their infant son Carl Hanson; her parents; and her seven siblings.

She is survived by her children: Virginia Hanson, Barbara (Thomas) Sharp, Daniel Hanson, Alvin (Janice) Hanson, Carol (Michael) Granger, Susan (Norman) Erickson, and Mary Hanson; 22 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and dear friends.

There will be a visitation at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church on Sunday, Jan. 29 from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service is at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church on Monday, Jan. 30 at 11 a.m., with visitation starting at 10 a.m.

There will be a spring burial service in Hancock, Michigan.
