Late bucket lifts Whitefish over Polson boys

WHITEFISH — Mason Kelch scored 10 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter, and Carson Krack followed up his own miss with 5.2 seconds left to lift Whitefish over Polson 47-45 in boys basketball Tuesday.

Kelch hit two corner 3-pointers as the Bulldogs (3-9 overall, 2-5 in the Northwest A) battled back from a 36-31 deficit after three quarters. They trailed by 10 at the half.

Mason Genovese added 12 points for Whitefish, all on threes; Kruck scored four points, all in the fourth.

Dawson DuMont led Polson (6-9, 4-4) with 11 points and Jarrett Wilson added 10.

PLAINS — Nick Walker scored all of his 15 points in the first half, helping Bigfork take a 52-8 lead, and the Vikings cruised to victory over District 7-B foe Plains Tuesday.

Five more plays scored at least nine points for the first-place Vikings (12-3, 8-0 in district games); Bryce Gilliar hit both of Bigfork’s 3-pointers and had 10 points.

Zayden Allen and Anaya Loberg scored five points each for the Horsemen (3-10, 1-6).
