How much is a Facebook account worth? A hacker thought it might be as much as $300, which is what the cybercriminal demanded from a local woman. She turned to the Kalispell Police Department for help after he offered to return access to the account in exchange for money.

A man who asked permission to use a bathroom later came back, telling workers that he forgot his methamphetamine in the restrooms. After reemerging, he allegedly showed them a crystal rock. The exchange left the workers nervous and they phoned the authorities. Officers were unable to locate anyone nearby matching their description of the forgetful drug user.

Officers attempted to nab two husky mixes reportedly running around along the U.S. 93 Bypass.

A homeless man found sleeping in front of a business found himself banned from the property for life.

A maintenance worker found what appeared to be a needle in a coffee can left in the mechanical room. He called the police to see if they would pick it up.

Porch pirates were caught on camera lifting a package containing a hat. The would-be recipient told officers that a security system affixed to the home’s door recorded two young people in hooded sweatshirts making off with the delivery, which was valued at $60.

Officers responded to a store after employees reported a man for allegedly threatening them with a knife. The man never displayed the weapon, they said, but indicated it was in his boot.

Authorities cited a man allegedly found hanging out drunk in an area park. He was barred from the premises for 24 hours.

Officers performed a welfare check on a couple of people in a burgundy Ford Explorer parked outside of a gas station. A customer reported the sleeping pair after noticing that even the sound of barking dogs did not rouse them from their slumber. Officers noted the pair woke up easily enough and learned that the couple was waiting for a friend to arrive with gas money.

A caller asked that police handle what looked like a homeless man with a shopping cart hitchhiking in a roadway.

Officers tried to track down a go-kart spotted motoring down the walking path.

A man allegedly hanging around outside of a community pool with his dog aroused the hackles of a woman inside, who reported his behavior to police. She said she spotted him staring at the young girls through the fence, though she described him as wearing sunglasses. The pool’s managers had told her they could not take action, because the man was on the other side of the fence. Officers were unable to find the man and the woman could not be reached for follow up questions.

A man described as wearing a “battle helmet” was spotted in an area parking lot making wild hand gestures. One individual describing the scene to police, identified as the manager of a nearby store, said they thought he was taping up his hands. Authorities received several other calls about the display.
