Concert supports North Valley Music School’s building campaign
A community concert in support of North Valley Music School’s Be Instrumental capital campaign to build a new music school and campus in Whitefish is Saturday, July 29.
The free event will feature John Arthur Martinez, a singer/songwriter from Austin, Texas, who performs Americana, Texas Hill Country swing and country music.
Martinez will be performing with his long-time band-mates Kurt Baumer, a virtuoso fiddle player, and Luiz Coutinho de Souza, his Brazilian percussionist.
“John Arthur Martinez is one of the great Texas singer-songwriters,” says Ray Benson, Asleep at the Wheel. “Having seen him perform as a solo artist and with his band, it’s evident that this guy is the real thing.”
The family-friendly music event will be held at Haskill Creek Farms from 5-8 p.m. Guests can enjoy 10% off in the Haskill Creek Farm Store, wine from Water’s Edge Winery, food from Rebel Roots, and ice cream from Farm to Table. Funds raised will go to support the fundraising of the community nonprofit’s new building fund.
“North Valley Music School is always looking to bring music to our community,” says Executive Director Deidre Corson. “Now, we are asking our community to bring their love of music to the school.”
The building has raised $4.2 million but still needs to secure $2.3 million.
“Everyone can be instrumental and we invite everyone to come to this fun night to learn more and be inspired,” said Corson.
Don “K” Subaru is sponsoring the concert. This event is also made possible by Singer and Simpson Productions. To learn more about Be Instrumental, visit www.nvms.me
