Furniture sale raises funds for child with heart condition

| July 13, 2023 12:00 AM

Doug Hammerberg in conjunction with Phillips Gallery will be donating 50% of all sales of his furniture sold at the gallery in hopes of extending the life of his friend, 4-year-old Avi Adams of Helena.

Avi has touched the hearts of many, and Hammerberg is offering the furniture he has made to help this beautiful little girl with a big but not perfect heart.

Avi has hypoplastic left heart, which is a birth defect in which the left side of the heart does not fully develop. The recommended course of treatment consists of three open-heart surgeries.

The fundraiser will assist with medical costs.

The gallery feels it is important to give back to our community and is honored to help this beautiful little girl and her family.

Each piece of furniture Hammerberg creates is unique and from the heart. Handmade in his small wood shop in Kalispell. Barnwood, blue pine, western walnut, maple, myrtle wood from Oregon and other softwood and hardwood goes into his furniture pieces. He uses wood that is symbolic in nature in each of his pieces. His styles and designs range in simple elegance from primitive to rustic to cabin décor.

Hammerberg’s furniture is available at Phillips Gallery located inside the Kalispell Center Mall. The fundraiser will continue until July 15. The gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
