Community band performs in Columbia Falls

The Flathead Valley Community Band is planning to present “A Concert in the Park” concert on Thursday, July 27, 2023, in Marentette Park, Columbia Falls.

The program begins at 7:15 p.m. The band is under the direction of Allen Slater. This event is being sponsored by the Columbia Falls Lions as a part of its concerts in the park.

The concert will feature a number of the best-loved pieces from the past concert season including overtures, marches and medleys. Featured on the program will be a piece written by Don Lawrence, especially for the community band. The program will close with “Montana,” the state song.

The band is a nonprofit with one goal: to provide music to a variety of audiences throughout the valley.
