Griz open practices Aug. 7
The 2023 Montana Grizzlies begin their quest to return to the top of the Big Sky Conference standings on Aug. 7, with the first of 18 practices of fall training camp.
Players report back to UM on Friday, Aug. 4, for two days of meetings, equipment fitting, and walk-throughs. The Griz begin practices at the South Campus fields next to Dornblaser Field at 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 7.
The first 11 practices of camp through Thursday, Aug. 18, are open to the public, with each set to begin at 2:30. Practices on Monday and Tuesday the following week are also open to the public.
Practices will be closed to the media and the public on Aug. 19 and Aug. 23-26. All practices remain open for Quarterback Club members.
The Griz open the 2023 season on Sept. 2, with a first-time matchup with the Butler Bulldogs out of Indianapolis. Kickoff at Washington-Grizzly Stadium is set for noon to give fans an early start to their Labor Day weekend.
Montana returns 15 starters from last year's 8-5 campaign: Nine on offense — including the entire offensive line — and six on defense.
The Griz are picked to finish third by the league's media and sixth by the coaches at the annual Big Sky Kickoff in Spokane over the weekend, with Montana State a unanimous pick to win the title.
Montana also placed five players on the preseason all-conference team: Offensive guard Hunter Mayginnes, D-tackle Alex Gubner, linebacker Levi Janacaro, receiver Junior Bergen and cornerback Trevin Gradney.
Season ticket packages, mini-plans, and single-game tickets to Montana's first five home games are on sale now at GrizTix.com.
Single-game tickets for the Brawl of the Wild vs. Montana State (Nov. 18) will go on sale on Sept. 12, pending availability. Fans can secure seats to the Brawl of the Wild today by purchasing season tickets or a three-game mini plan, which also guarantees the best seats at the most affordable price.
