Range Riders split weekend action, win series

BILLINGS — The Billings Mustangs used a trio of homers to power past the Range Riders 5-2 Sunday in the final game of the six game series. Lance Logsdon hit a two-run shot and Mitch Moralez and Gabe Wurtz hit solo home runs.

Glacier jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the third when Crews Taylor singled then came around to score when Kingston Liniak reached on an error.

The Mustangs rallied back with Moralez and Logsdon doing their damage in the bottom of the fourth to make things 3-1.

Ben Fitzgerald crossed home for the Riders on a Mason Dinesen sac-fly in the sixth to make things 3-2 but Wurtz struck back with his homerun in the bottom half of the inning.

Tanner Solomon earned the start for the Riders pitching six innings and allowing five earned runs. Taylor finished 4-5 with a triple on the day.

With the loss Sunday the Riders still took home the series victory by picking up four wins on their trip to Billings. The Riders two losses came by a combined three runs.
