Range Riders get back on track with win
Mason Dinesen hit two home runs including a grand slam and the Glacier Range Riders beat the Missoula PaddleHeads 14-11 Sunday afternoon at Glacier Bank Park to snap a six game losing streak. Dinesen tallied six RBI going 3-6 and Dean Miller was 2-3 with three RBI to power the Range Riders offense.
Glacier starter Noah Barros went five innings while allowing four earned runs and striking out five. Tanner Solomon picked up the win in relief for the Riders after tossing two innings and allowing three earned runs.
Missoula was up 5-4 entering the bottom of the sixth inning when Kingston Liniak leadoff the inning with a double and Crews Taylor followed that up with a two-run homer to make things 6-5 Glacier. That would ignite a five-run rally that Miller capped off by driving in three runs on a double to make things 9-5 in the Range Riders favor.
The PaddleHeads made things interesting after a Jared Akins solo homer in the top of eighth made it a one-run game but Dinesen would retaliate with his grand slam in the bottom half of the inning to extend the Riders lead to 14-9.
Mitch Sparks was the losing pitcher for Missoula after allowing four earned runs in his lone inning of work.
The Riders are off Monday before a Tuesday night matchup with the Great Falls Voyagers at Glacier Bank Park.
